Lies or not, *shrug*. Maybe some hack to access it, maybe others didn't. End of the day it was an exploit no matter how you look at it.
Really if all those people are banned then why are there still people wilth 90 stacks of ecto you would have to solo farm UW 24/7 since this game came out to do that this is so much smaller because they had to do work to make the money and they still didnt ruin the price on armbraces so it did not ruin the economy at all. they proved theirselves that they could beat the other 4 areas already and said that they had too just to even get there no different then Duncan yet all 200 people that did that are not banned.

They didn't find it by accident. Or atleast, not repeatedly when they were farming it. Besides, why would you tell someone about you're new super amazing farming spot?

I'll eat my words to a point.

It's still a dev outpost, you knew you shouldn't have been there, you knew that ANet could find out, and you knew that if ANet did find out there'd be ramifications.

Right?

Maybe now would be a good time for everyone to read the EULA. Hell, if you can wade through 45 pages of this crap you should be able to read the EULA.

Read it and understand what it is telling you. It may help others from getting accounts banned in the future.

wow. I read more and more, and Im becomeing sure you guys dont realize its a game. its a form of intertainment. Its not real life. IF i stole from you, in real life, I go to jail, if I get caught. Real life. In a game, people steal from eachother every day. I neverhave. I dont even rip people off when I could. I dont sell an ele sword for 100k when its worth 20 now.. even tho this guy hasnt logged for a week and doesnt know.

OK so I dont rob/steal/cheat.

again I dont.

For those who said no one cares? 45 pages in 12 hrs, going near 1000 posts in 12 hours, a TON of people care. the 117, each had 117 friends, who have 117 friends, who played with us daily! DAILY!!!!

thusly 1million 600,000 people were/are directly affected. The 50 different people a day I ran COF for.. affected.. the 5 to 10 I taught to 600 UW/FOW, directly afected, the 20 to 30 I played pre with every week.. directly affected.

DOnt tell me its not a big deal, or Im a bad person bla bla bla, or say its same as real life.

Its a form of intertainment. We enjoyed it. We tried to help other people enjoy it. We HADNT even don this mallyx mission for a month!

A MONTH! We honestly htought it was part of the game, some update. I assumed scrolls would start coming from Ziashen chests for this area.

I am sad to see how many angry/blamer/flamers there are in the gw community.

Everyone I hav eplayed with in these games/ alliances/ guilds/ etc where nice honest people. The few who werent are on my ban list. theres 2 on there as far as i know.

I helped peopel all the time, for free.

I gave money to people to finish an armor set, whatever.

Rob the unknown owes me 150k, do I care? NO I hope he gets r15 some day, and can be the happiest cat in GW.

ITS A GAME!
its not real life.

Thanks for listening.

However, Ferrying to Urgoz/Deep has always been part of the mechanic of owning a town. And once you get there you STILL have to beat the area to get the reward.

Consulate docks armor does nothing but give you max armor. You cannot SKIP anything, since the mission will not let you in.

The mallyx one lets you repeatedly beat mallyx without doing the prerequisite quests. This is a rather BIG difference with those other ferrying exploits.
Not really

Once you got to Urgoz/Deep you could park your character there and repeatedly enter even though your alliance no longer owned the town.

Even though you can not run the mission, you can then enter Consulate docks again and again with the map - as well as get the ferries to other games.

And, even though you can beat Mallyx without doing the prerequisite quests - you do still have to beat him to get the reward.

Unless you are pretty familiar with the whole game - including the dynamics of DoA - it would not seem that different than the others. Obviously some of the banned were familiar enough with DoA to know that. But many certainly were not.

As for the community are you talking about the GW community or the Guilds and alliance communitys? and I agree that nothing is better then a common goal. but trying to put in FFF guilds as leaders of the GW world just because the own a town is a insult to all the guilds that help people be it PvE or PvP.
You missed the original point - noone claims that anyone involved in FFF is leader of anything, merely that this whole affair affects literally 1000's of people and not just a handful like people were claiming. I was done with FFF months ago but stuck around because I liked the people, learned a lot from them and taught them a lot. Personally, I have a different bar for just about anything and everything to do in the game - and seriously for the hardcore player titles are really the only things to do - so don't jump down our throats for doing something repetative - the whole game is full of grind

they are not equal but i don't understand anets idea behind leaving this there in the actucal server even if it runs all of doa why put and enter mission button why put elite mission there when you zone in

There was no town that you automatically went to that you could press a button or walk outside and be directly at Duncan the Black without doing a quest line first or fighting your way to the boss. Try again.

Nobody was banned for that. It is no different then Mallyx. Except with Mallyx you had to actually complete the four quests before getting access to the locked town.

You have to have an understanding from a developers point of view. This town was put in for developer testing, not for community use such as the case with the Urgoz outpost. It was never ment to be able to be accessed by the general population, and therefore considered a safe outpost from a developer side.

This town/outpost/whatever was NOT put into the game for player use, nor was it put in the game for access to the elite mission of the game. It was never intended to see the light of day outside of the developers of the game using it.

Well - hey I suppose if you count the 2 minute run to get you in there and the money you had to pay someone to get you in... and the 15 mins or so (sound familiar) to beat the thing - in truth, when it comes down to actual effort required - it is identical.

incase of possible hack/mod don't put an enter mission button if you don't want people to ever be able to use it again nothing is safe someone can always get around something
